Laser Therapy
The low level laser emits a coherent light that is applied to the effected area. When the body has an injury, the cells are damaged and fail to function within normal parameters. Low level lasers penetrate deeply into the skin, stimulate tissue and works by restoring this abnormal cellular function. Physiologic effects include improved metabolism, circulation and tissue healing. A laser therapy treatment may take any where from 2 – 20 minutes. It is painless and there are no side effects. The majority of conditions treated will take anywhere from 4-5 or 10-18 treatments. The number of treatments depends upon the severity of the condition and its duration. If your condition does not change immediately, it may take 3-4 treatments before a dramatic or marked change is perceived.
It has proven to be effective with many pain syndromes. It has also become the treatment of choice for soft tissue injuries (strains, sprains), as well as, for the treatment of painful post-herpetic neuralgia (shingles pain).

The FDA has marketed clearance for the treatment of chronic pain with low-level lasers.
